Color, Surface, and Form–there is nothing like Tulips

mclaurin_cc_2This part of the world is beautiful in the early spring. The UNC campus is ablaze with azaleas, camellias, various perennial flowers and coeds sunbathing. All adds up to a glorious sight. Some people have yards that are equally spectacular. They invest great amounts of time and other resources into their gardening. I was asked to photograph a friend’s yard while the tulips were at full bloom several weeks ago. It was lovely. I had never before photographed flowers as a subject. I did it and it turned out OK, but I want some criticism so I am going to post a group of flowers and ask for comments. I would really appreciate this. I am going back this afternoon to do another series of the pansies and other flowers now that the tulips are over.
